Exhibition of Soviet book illustration "Magic Glasses

L'exposition 5 mars − 10 mai 2022
march 4 at 16.00 Primorsky State Art Gallery invites adults and children to the opening of the exhibition "Magic Glasses" from the series "Private Collections".
More than seventy works from the private collection of Alyona Smyshlyaeva will be presented to the audience, all belonging to the 1950s-1980s. This is one of the most interesting periods of the flowering of children's books, during which the achievements of Soviet book illustration were marked by numerous international awards.
The exhibition includes works to the works of famous writers: S.Ya. Mayakovsky, MA Stelmakh, VV. Bianki, made by the classics of children's book illustration G.O. Valk, A.A. Lurie, N.I. Tseytlin, V.A. Belyshev, M.A. Skobelev, etc.
The exhibition is supplemented by books, illustrations to which are shown in the exposition, and films on a special filmoscope. Those who wish can leaf through the books, which allows the viewer to compare the author's drawing with the printed one, and enjoy the favorite amusement of Soviet children - watching the films. For the youngest guests we have prepared an exciting cultural and educational program: the competition "My Little Book", the quest "Drawing by Playing" and special tours.
The Magic Glasses project is for some people a guide to their childhood, and for others, to the childhood world of their parents and grandparents

The exhibition will run until May 10.
