Delacroix and Nature

L'exposition 16 mars − 27 juin 2022
The Louvre, Paris and the Eugène Delacroix Museum present the exhibition "Delacroix and Nature.".

Visitors will see rare landscapes painted by the master, as well as a number of sketches and drawings by the artist and a collection of personal herbaria, bestiary and study sheets, which Delacroix never showed to the public during his lifetime.

A lover of nature, Delacroix immersed himself in contemplation of the sea and landscapes, making many trips to the countryside, staying at his home in Champros or with his friend Georges Sand. Throughout his career, he lovingly described the beauty of nature in his diary and letters, drawing on his observations of fauna and flora to create his best works
