Inauguration of the new Ramón Cabanillas museum. The designer of the museum project has conceived a modern and multicolored space so that the approach to the biography and work of the poet is an attractive and easy task, where the audiovisual element gives voice to people linked to culture and Cambados who recite the author.
Glass cases and panels display photographs, press clippings, manuscripts, posters... and, of course, books, which contextualize the era in which Cabanillas lived. The documents are interspersed with objects -from a baby's hat to a medal- and the whole pivots on a central element: the desk that the poet illuminated Samos.
The domestic collections were mostly donated by the Cabanillas family, but there were also donations from institutions that wanted to contribute to the museum. This is the case of the funeral mask of Don Ramón, made by his friend and fellow countryman Francisco Asorey, and the laurel leaves that crowned him as poet during a literary festival at Easter in Padrón in 1958, both pieces donated by the Museum of Pontevedra
