Nikita Stanislavovich Rodin. Born in 1992 in St. Petersburg, in the family of a dentist and a shipbuilder.
I graduated from 11 grades of gymnasium, then the Philosophy Department of St. Petersburg State University, I have no art education. I started drawing in 2020, having found photo paper and wooden frames for photos in the storerooms of discarded materials. I am inspired by Dürer, Borges, and drawings in Soviet notebooks.
I create small graphic works in which the figurative image practically merges with the background and forms a single ornamental surface.
I usually draw what comes into my head in the form of some humor, combinations of images, non-existent battle canvases. Since childhood I love, like all of us, to fantasize, and, like some of us, history. Therefore, I draw according to the principle of an experienced liar: if you lie, then, firstly, it must be folded, and secondly, it is necessary to maintain a balance between truth and lies. Therefore, real-life personalities in real-life places, but in invented situations. For more drama - series are exhibited together - Victories of Russian arms and Defeats of Russian diplomacy. There are also series "Handsome", "Typically St. Petersburg situations", series for cities, which will be constantly replenished - "Pskopskoe", "Rostov". I also draw "Great milestones and insignificant moments of stories told around the campfires of the world". Big works are monuments to mythology, history, culture - everything too human.
