Nikolay Ivanovich has worked primarily in the landscape genre. That is nature, he is considered a personification of the harmony of the world. In his works, the artist transcends the immediacy of experience. Composition of his works are thoughtfully constructive color, usually tender, built on the subtle shades of bright tones, paint is placed a flat, smooth layer. Melt one in other colors give rise to a poetic clearness of sensations. The depth of the feelings of Russian nature, turning into a philosophical reflection on the meaning of human existence, unites the artist with a great tradition of the Russian school of landscape.

The work of Nikolai Ivanovich in its mood of lyrical. His paintings are created based on real impressions, thus, they reproduce the full, generalized image of the world. Amazing combination and its dedication to nature and however elaborate the constructive characteristic of the works of N. And. Bachinina. It seems that he easily and happily writes his paintings, intuitively discovering the laws underlying the natural world – a world of purity and clarity. The earth is poetically perceived by the artist as the ideal of a harmonious space where nature, people, animals live in joyful unity.

The motives of landscapes of Nikolai Ivanovich primarily Kuzbass – Tom, its shores, Barzas, Shoriya. If under the wing of the plane, we see the ancient face of the earth with the folds of the mountains, hills, bend of the river and the signs of new – cultivated fields, paved roads, blocks of houses, traffic on roads. Air, light, dynamics permeated the endless expanse. Among the means of the composite solution image works should be noted and image acquisition of the object close to the viewer. The artist makes sure to look in the closeup grass, flowering bushes, the Windows of the hut, to the particular to see a large being in the world where the loving contemplation of the parts develops into an argument about the meaning of life.

Terrific hold a ton of power based scenic landscapes of Nikolai Ivanovich. Favorite gamma – cold, delicate, subtle. It defines the structure of the space, the transmission of air and light. The skill of the tonal system of painting also brings together the artist with the tradition of Russian landscape.
