Born in Moscow in 1882. The son of a factory worker. Studied at MUZHVZ in 1910-1916. In 1918-1920 he taught at GSMH in Moscow. Participated in exhibitions MTX in 1912-1916, 1918, 1922, the Art World in Moscow in 1913 and St. Petersburg in 1922, the CPX in 1916, 1917, 1922 and 1923, and in the exhibition of the Red Army during 1918-1923. In 1915 his engravings acquired the Rumyantsev Museum. Executed illustration with a pen to Count Nuline Pushkin (Berlin, 1922) and a lot of book marks. In 1923 the members of the organizing Committee of the exhibition of Russian art in America, went to London, thence in 1924 to new York. Performed a poster exhibition and successfully sold several works, including portraits of V. Vasnetsov and P. Ettinger. Zakharov did not return from a business trip and settled in the United States. He painted mostly commissioned portraits. In the 1920s the Studio played it Football, portrait N. Golovanova, portrait of C. Lipscombe, miniature female portraits and figures. His personal exhibitions were held in Philly in 1924, Paris in 1933, new York in 1934. Participated in the Russian section of the International exhibition of modern painting in Pittsburgh in 1925. Received the award Lippincote for the picture In my dreams on the 123rd exhibition of the Pennsylvania Academy of fine Arts in 1928 and an honorary prize of the audience at the Biennale in the Corcoran gallery in new York in 1937. He died in 1967.
