Paintings Makovsky: understated beauty
Quite a long stay in Paris while training left no trace in the artist — except in terms of elegance of craftsmanship. Makovsky returned home and devoted his painting close to him on the mood and spirit subjects: rural landscapes, urban views, domestic scenes. He did not seek to portray in his paintings something more than a daily routine in all its manifestations. Characteristic of the Itinerants ideas of populism is not so strongly reflected in the work of Alexander, as in the works of other participants of the partnership or his father Vladimir.
In search of inspiration, the artist traveled extensively around the country. A large series of beautiful landscapes was written during a trip in the Perm region in the years 1910-1917. The wizard is dedicated to the most different corners of Russia: from the banks of the Kama and Vishera up to the White sea. Makovsky repeatedly depicted in his paintings graceful Russian churches and majestic monasteries, including the famous complex in the Solovetsky Islands. Many works were exhibited at the Peredvizhniki organized exhibitions of the Association.
