In 1930-1936 he studied painting at the art school "Pallas" under the direction of N. Trike and schedule A. Vabbe. His work has been presented at exhibitions of Estonian art abroad from Rome to Moscow. During the war the artist lived in Russia. In 1943 in Yaroslavl took part in the organization of the Union of artists of Estonia.
