Born in the village of Berezovka, Vinnytska region From 1921 he studied at the Krakow Academy of arts (V. Yarotsky), in 1928 he graduated from the Ukrainian Studio of Plastic Arts in Prague (under S. Mako) From 1928 he lived and worked in Paris, where he became one of the Central figures of the artistic life. Paris Professor S. Kunstler wrote about the artist: "His name is known to the biggest collectors in the world (they are proud of purchased canvases of Holuka). His work is represented in museums in Lucerne, London and Stockholm. We are grateful to the Ambroise Vollard, who introduced the Creator in the Parisian art world." Despite post-war financial crisis, the French government bought the master's works. Among the admirers of the masters were prominent collectors: A. Vollard, S. Shukin. He published three collections of poems in Prague (1923 – 1928). Led an active exhibition activity in known European galleries. In 1933 – 1936 he held exhibitions in England, Italy and Switzerland. From 1943 to constantly exhibited works in the gallery Durand-Ruel, who organized his exhibition in Paris, new York etc. the Author of landscapes, portraits and still lifes. Presented in Lviv KG, the Museum of modern art in Paris, the gallery of the University of Oxford, museums in London, new York, Philadelphia, Munich, Toronto, Stockholm, Lucerne, etc.
