Modern painter. Born in 1943 at the station Arys of the Uzbek SSR (in the evacuation). In 1957 1962гг. studied in M With X sh
Since 1966 takes part in the Union, zonal, Republican and international art exhibitions.
In 1968. he graduated from the Moscow state art Institute. V. I. Surikov, teachers: M. A. Gritsai, D. D. Zhilinsky, S. N. Shilnikov.
In 1969. he joined the Union of artists of the USSR. In 1965-1985. besides painting was engaged in scenography in musical theaters in the country.
In 1989. started working in the field of ecclesiastical art.
In the year 2000. awarded the State prize of the Russian Federation.
In 2001. became a corresponding member of the Russian Academy of arts.
In 2003. awarded the medal of the Russian Orthodox Church of St. Sergius of Radonezh.
In 2004. she was awarded the gold medal of the Russian Academy of arts.
Since 2007. member of the Russian Academy of arts.
Works are in State Tretyakov gallery, State Russian Museum, the State Museum of musical culture named Glinka State Museum of history of Moscow, in the Moscow Museum of modern art, the Museum of modern art Ludwig in Cologne, the New gallery, Aachen, Slovak national gallery and in art museums of Russian cities, Vologda, Ivanovo, Omsk, Tomsk, Yaroslavl and in private collections in UK, USA, Italy, Spain, France, the Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Austria, Germany, Russia and other countries.
