Boston Museum of Fine Arts invites you to visit the exhibition
"A Collection of Stories: The Emergence of Folk Art.".
The exhibition tells about the history and evolution of the term "folk art", illustrating the narrative with exhibits from the museum's collection.
The paintings on canvas, watercolors, marble dust drawings, portraits and objects on view were created by authors working outside the traditional artistic canon, free from the strict rules of academic training and whose creation was "stimulated" by trade, craft, society, creative impulse or affirmation of identity.
