Exhibition of the nominees for the 13th Kandinsky Prize

Moscow Museum of Modern Art and the Breus Foundation present an exhibition of the nominees for the 13th Kandinsky Prize.

Kandinsky Prize exhibition is taking place for the second time at the Moscow Museum of Modern Art on Petrovka. The exhibitors include both nominees and even laureates of past years (Viktor Alimpiev, Yan Ginzburg, Polina Kanis, Irina Korina, Alexey Korsi, Andrey Kuzkin, Taus Makhacheva, duo MishMash, Alexander Morozov, ::vtol::, Albina Mokhryakova, Pavel Otdelnov, Provmyza art group, Roman Sakin, Maria Safronova, Danila Tkachenko, Artem Filatov, Vladimir Chernyshev) and new names (Alisa Gorshenina, Ivan Gorshkov, Katya Muromtseva, Alexei Pankin, Ivan Petrokovich, Ulyana Podkorytova, Anna Rotayenko, Egor Fedorichev).

Many of the works nominated for the Kandinsky Prize have been shown at large solo exhibitions held over the past three years at various venues around the country. The Kandinsky Prize, an independent Russian prize in contemporary art, was established in 2007 on the initiative of Shalva Breus, President of the BREUS Foundation. In line with accepted international practice, the prize was named after the outstanding Russian artist and art theorist of the 20th century, a pioneer of abstract painting. The objectives of the Kandinsky Prize are to support and develop Russian contemporary art and increase its prestige in the world.
