The State Hermitage Museum holds an exhibition "Sardinia - the island of megaliths. From menhirs to nuraghe: history in stone in the heart of the Mediterranean"dedicated to the history and fascinating archaeological sites of the Italian island.

The exhibition presents the collections from the three museums of Sardinia: the National Archaeological Museum (Cagliari), the National Archaeological Museum G. Asproni (Nuoro), the National Archaeological and Ethnographic Museum G. A. Sanna (Sassari), which unfolds before the visitors the picture of prehistoric archaeology of the island from the Neolithic to mid-Iron age.

The exhibition was previously held with great success in Berlin and now opens at the State Hermitage Museum, after which it will be shown at the National Archaeological Museum in Thessaloniki and the National Archaeological Museum in Naples. The exhibition presents an overview of the accumulated information and the development of archaeological knowledge about the culture of Sardinia in deep antiquity: the historical and geographical context allows the viewer to understand not only important finds from the archaeological museums of Cagliari, Nuoro and Sassari, but also multimedia materials, scale models and three-dimensional reconstructions.
