On December 17 at 17.00 in the Main Enfilades of the Primorskaya Gallery the exhibition "Museum as a Guest" opens. The project is part of a temporary exchange of works with the Museum and Exhibition Complex "New Jerusalem" (Istra, Moscow region).
The viewers will see five picturesque works of artists - representatives of the famous association "Jack of Diamonds": David Burlyuk, Alexander Osmerkin, Vasily Rozhdestvensky, Robert Falk. In turn, the exhibition "The ABC of a Masterpiece" at the Museum "New Jerusalem" will include four works from the collection of the Primorsky Picture Gallery: "Portrait of M.P. Lentulova" by Aristarkh Lentulov, "Portrait of G.L. Girshman" by Konstantin Somov, "Trunks (Alley)" by Robert Falk, "Portrait of David's brother with a mandolin" by Marc Chagall.
The "Jack of Diamonds" group of artists appeared in Russia in 1910. Its members were guided by Cézanne's legacy, more precisely by the French painting of the post-Cézanne period - cubism. Seeking to comprehend the internal structure of the volume, the cubists show the objects in one composition from different points of view, at different moments in time. Artists of "Jack of Diamonds" were perceived by their contemporaries as rebels, but had a great influence on the art of the second half of XX century.
You will be able to see the works with a single ticket in the Main Enfilades. Current cost: 400 - adults, 300 - pensioners, students, schoolchildren. The cost of the excursion is +100 rubles to the cost of the entrance ticket.
