Ivanovich Belsky (Belskoy)

Son Of I. L. Belsky. He served in the Armory (1743) and the "Office of the buildings"(1743). Studied at George. Bona and I. Ya. Vishnyakova . Led the mosaic workshop, founded by M. V. Lomonosov (1766-1798). Wrote the image for the Cathedral of the Alexander Nevsky monastery and other churches, as well as theatrical scenery. Works ("the Bishop during the service of the Liturgy", circa 1770, the "Head of the Apostle Peter," 1783 — both in the Tretyakov gallery) have a wide picturesque manner, often include landscape and genre motifs.
