Graduated MGHI them. Surikov in the Studio of S. V. Gerasimov.
Studied with V. V. Pochitalova, N. X. Maximova, S. N. Kostina. Worked as a marine painter.
Since 1956 a member of the Moscow Union of artists.
From 1950 he participated in all-Union, regional, national, Moscow, youth exhibitions, including exhibitions of marine painters, the exhibition "Earth and people".
In the 1950s and 1960s, he was engaged in book illustration.
Personal exhibition of the artist was held in Moscow in 1993 works were presented at the Drouot-Richelieu in Paris (1990,1991).
The works of V. G. Fedorov are in the state Tretyakov gallery, the Russian regional art museums, in private collections in Russia and abroad: the State Tretyakov gallery, the Tula Museum of fine arts, the Museum of the State academic Bolshoi theatre, the national art museums, and private collections in many countries of the world.
