Born in the family of the Vilna Carver taught Vincenty of Balukevich, a brother of the painter Jozef Balukevich and artist, Lucia Balukevich.
He lived in Vilna in 1919, and from 1903-1907. Initial art formation has received at the Vilnius Drawing school I. P. Trutnev. He was buried at the Rossa cemetery (Race) in Vilna. Professor of Vilnius Stefan Batory University (1919), head of Department of sculpture of the University (1919-1935).

Known as the author of the allegorical figure of Electricity in the building, Vilnius CHP and the monument to the composer Stanislaw Moniuszki in the square near the Church.
