(16.IV.1851, Luga uyezd, St. Petersburg province - 1948, Kolomenskoye, near Moscow).

In his youth he was fond of photography. In 1877 he opened his own photo in Rostov Veliky. In 1881, held the first shooting of the Rostov Kremlin, and in 1883, has already become a corresponding member of the Moscow archaeological society and photographer of the Academy of arts. B. told M. K. Tenisheva Talashkino in the late 90s, he helped her to compile a collection of Russian antiquities, and in 1899 became head of the Talashkino art workshops for a long time was the head of ceramic workshop, performing art, helped M. K. Tenisheva with experiments on manufacture of art enamel.

B. led archaeological excavations at Smyadyn in 1909-10. In 1900 participated in the design of the Russian pavilion at the world exhibition in Paris. But the main contribution of B. is its work on the drafting of the Tenishev Museum of antiquity. In 1907 the Museum was shown at the Louvre, and B. has created the exhibition and compiled a catalogue, for which he was awarded the French government is "palm Academy". Created the Museum in Smolensk together with M. K. Tenisheva, and later was Director of the Museum. He created a catalogue of musical instruments Tenishev Museum, has written articles about the jesters, "the Painting". Last years he lived in Kolomna.
