Ausstellung 13 August − 6 Dezember 2021
The new museum "Russian State Art Gallery" in anticipation of its own building in Sevastopol demonstrates projects on other sites and presents the first part of the exhibition project "Malevich vs Filonov. Dialogue between two schools"dedicated to the two great masters of the early twentieth century and their pupils.

The narrative is centered around the State Institute of Artistic Culture (GINHUK) and the new educational principles developed by Kazimir Malevich and Pavel Filonov. The multimedia installation gives visitors the opportunity to experience the atmosphere of that era.

In the center of the exposition, viewers are greeted by Innokenty Suvorov's Antireligious Chess, the only Filonov disciple who worked in sculpture. Also here one can see the graphics and the Finnish epos "Kalevala", which was published under the editorship of Pavel Filonov and with the participation of the "Collective of Masters of Analytical Art". The second part of the project will show more than 30 works by Malevich, Filonov and their students, specially selected from regional collections, as well as provided by the Russian Museum and some private collectors.
"Malevich vs Filonov. Dialogue between two schools" is the first exhibition of the avant-garde in the Crimea for many years.
