The incomparable impressionism

Ausstellung 14 November 2021 − 27 März 2022
Houston Museum of Fine Arts invites you to visit the exhibition "Incomparable Impressionism. From the Collection of the Boston Museum.

The exhibition includes more than 100 paintings and drawings of the 19th and early 20th centuries, grouped into nine thematic groups. A magnificent collection of works by the French Impressionists and Post-Impressionists traces the evolution of the radical movement: from its roots in the novel, naturalistic landscapes of Jean-Baptiste-Camille Corot, Charles François Daubigny and other artists of the Barbizon school to the early experiments of Claude Monet, Camille Pissarro and Alfred Sisley with "optical color" in plein air landscape painting; to the frank depictions of modern urban life by Mary Cassatt, Edgar Degas, Edouard Manet and Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec.

For the first time, the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston is lending some 100 of the most significant paintings from its famous Impressionist collection.
