The archaeological study of the Bosporus is a special, unique page in the history of Russian science of antiquity. The Bosporan Kingdom is an ancient state that once spread out in the steppes of the modern Kerch and Taman Peninsulas, the Lower Don Region and the Azov Sea area. Bosporus Cimmerian was the ancient name of the Kerch Strait, which gave the name to the largest Greek-Barbarian state formation in the Northern Black Sea region.
