Azam Atakhanov's solo exhibition: "You and I"

SISTEMA GALLERY Art Space and Reloft ART Gallery present a solo exhibition of artist Azam Atakhanov, which will open on September 9 at two galleries at once. Curators of the project - Dasha Semenova and Zhenya Melnikova - have created an exhibition-dialogue, where each gallery formulates a scenographic statement addressed to the other.
At the heart of the exhibition "You and I" is the artist's appeal to the female image as a universal sign of beauty and creation. When depicting the feminine, Azam Atakhanov seeks to expose the archetypal symbol of the universe and embody the movement, the peace of creation and comprehensive cosmic space, enclosed in the form.
In Azam's painting, the nature of beauty and the divine is revealed in a harmony set by the unity of all things. the "I" and the "You" in the title of the exhibition are those who are connected in dialogue, and those who have seen the world in the Other. In the space of the exhibition the measured rhythms of the play of light and shadow sound, the saturated colors of the paintings become a reflection of the fullness of life, creating the impression of a continuous flow of the eternal cycle.
Azam Atakhanov was born in 1964 in Dushanbe. He graduated from the Republican Art School of Tajikistan and the Moscow Higher Art-Industrial School (formerly Stroganov School). His works are in private collections and collections of the State Museum of Oriental Art, State Museum of Fine Arts of Tatarstan, Moscow Museum of Modern Art, Kamoliddin Bekhzod National Museum of Fine Arts (Dushanbe), North Caucasus branch of the State Museum of Oriental Arts (Maykop), World Bank for Reconstruction and Development (Washington).
