A summer's day

I painted this picture in the summer, when I was vacationing in the countryside with my young son. It was a hot day, and the sun was streaming through the foliage, leaving uneven shadows on the paths. The bench, which stands in the shade of a sprawling rowan tree, was made by our grandfather. He let me and my son paint it and was surprised to see that we made it colorful. It is our favorite spot in the garden.
