"A great artist" – without false modesty, called his Lentulov-portrait. Definitely feeling the irony in the title and in the picture, however, does not allow to forget that in each joke only a joke share. "Benovalence" excessive modesty does not suffer as a whole, and Lentulov in particular, this virtue was not inherent, at least, in the years of portraiture.
What "good man" before us in this picture! Recall that the Russian futurists in General

"We like the sun"– has called Mayakovsky. "Why not be it, will!", – the language of color meets Lentulov. By the way, embroidered Kaftan, reminiscent of the famed yellow shirt, Mayakovsky became one of the symbols of the futurists.
