Student of the Academy of Arts from 1878 to 1889, In 1884, two small silver medals; 1885-two small silver medals; 1885-big and small silver coin; 1886-a large silver medal; 1887-2 gold medal for the program "the View, one of the oldest parks in the vicinity of the SPb"; 1888-1 gold medal for the program "Landscape." October 30, 1889 the title of class artist of 1 degree. Was a pensioner of the Imperial Academy of Arts. (Kondakov)

Ukrainian painter and a wonderful draftsman. He was born in Odessa. Graduated from Odessa drawing school (1877), studied at St. Petersburg Academy of arts in the Studio of M. Klodt and V. Orlovsky (1878 – 1889). Received medals: small and large silver (1884 – 1886), a small gold (1887), a gold (1888), the title of class artist 1-th degree (1889). Retired OH abroad (1890 – 1893). Participated in exhibitions since 1890 (AH, Turk, ORA, Society of Kharkiv artists, etc.). In 1900 he exhibited at the world exhibition in Paris. From 1893 he worked primarily in Ukraine. Taught (since 1904) in the school of drawing in Kharkiv. He painted landscapes (oil, watercolor). Solo exhibitions were held in Kharkiv (1906, 1938, 1962). Paintings are held in major Ukrainian and Russian museums.
