An outstanding Ukrainian painter and teacher. Born in the village of kobylets'ka Polyana in Zakarpattia region. Author of landscapes, religious compositions, portraits. People's artist of the USSR since 1963, corresponding member AH the USSR from 1958. He studied in 1910 – 1914 in the Budapest fine arts (I. Reves). Since 1918 he worked in Uzhgorod. Together with A. erdely organized the first exhibition of Transcarpathian artists (1921), opened UHS (1927), the initiator of the creation of the T-VA figures fine arts in Carpathian Ruthenia (1931). He taught at Uzhgorod College of applied arts (1945 – 1957) and at the Lviv Institute of applied and decorative art (1951 – 1957). Lived and worked in Uzhgorod.

From 1918 works in Uzhgorod as an artist and as a teacher in 1927 he founded together with A. M. Erdeli first in Transcarpathia art school.
Author juicy colours of landscapes as well as monumental paintings, genre paintings, portraits, still lifes.
Works: "Bazaar in Uzhgorod" (1927), "the Khust castle" (1942) - both in the Transcarpathian Museum of arts, Uzhgorod; "Lake in the mountains" (1946), "Great top" (1951) - both in the Museum of Ukrainian fine arts of the Ukrainian SSR, Kiev.
Awarded the order "badge of Honor".
