Yakovlevich Laugh-Shatkovsky

Born in the city of Pochayiv, Ternopil region. In 1931 – 1939 he studied at the Warsaw Academy of arts in Skoczylas, P. Pruszkowska, L. Wyczolkowski. He was a member of the group "Rest". In 1939 he returned to Pochayev, where he worked as a teacher and continued artistic practice. After the war he worked in the Ternopil drama theatre. From 1946 he lived in Lviv, taught at the Institute of applied and decorative art of the Ukrainian polygraphic Institute them. I. Fedorov and College of applied arts. I. Trush.Among the major themes of a lyrical landscape, still life. Turned to the portraits of the classics of Ukrainian culture, major figures in Ukrainian history.A large and diverse creative heritage is one of the main in the development of national art of the twentieth century.
