The artist belongs to the generation who, during world war 2 went to Germany and then in Denmark. He studied at the art Academy of Latvia (1926 – 30) to K. Obana. As a scholar of the Cultural Fund went to foreign countries. The artist actively participated in the organization of exhibitions artists links (the Art of Latvia in the Western Evropi) in Copenhagen 1958.Solo exhibition – Copenhagen 1959, Uppsala 1960. Many illustrated books – P. Clan "Sveicināta, Āfrika!" 1963, A. Green ,,Tobago, 1964.
