Biography and information

German artist Emily Prayer (Emilie Preyer) preferred genre of still life. She was born in the family of the artistJohn Wilhelm Preyer (1803-1889), her uncle and aunt on the paternal side were also painters.

Wrote about 250 still-lifes, preferring floral fruit. Pictures Emily Prayer can be found in the collections of such distinguished museums as the Metropolitan Museum of art in new York and the Philadelphia Museum of Art. Many of her works ended up in private collections.
