The painting depicts one of the famous mountains of the Crimea - Mount Ak Kaya (Belaya Skala), where on June 28 (July 9), 1783, the manifesto of Catherine II was proclaimed and promulgated during the solemn oath of the Crimean nobility, which Prince Potemkin personally took on the flat top of the cliff of Ak -What? The mountain is also known to a wide range of films shot in these places ("The Horseman without a Head", "The Man from the Boulevard of the Capuchins", "The Children of Captain Grant", etc.).
