Vsilyevich Korenev

1868−1952
The artist was born in Nikolaev in 1868, studied at the Odessa Drawing School, was a member of the famous Association of South Russian Artists. He taught, was the head of the Art class, worked as a researcher at the Katerinoslav Art Museum, restored icons of the 16th - 17th centuries that were identified in Dnepropetrovsk. In addition, Korenev collected paintings and objects of decorative art. For the first exhibition of the artistic and artistic society in 1909 he presented paintings, sketches and drawings by Bruni, Bukovetsky, T. Dvornikov, G. Kuznetsov, P. Nilus, V. Polenov; collections of ancient Tatar embroideries and opishnyanskoy ceramics.
The artist worked in different genres. He skillfully mastered the techniques of oil painting, watercolors and engravings. His works are stored in the Dnepropetrovsk Art Museum, the Louvre, the Berlin National Museum and the like.
