Description of the artwork «Figure 8455»

Figure 8455
37th Yekaterinburg Infantry Regiment
Soldier rumors in the trenches claimed that the Germans and the Austrians had horns on their heads, that they were not people but devils. Isromonakhs, regimental priests, spoke of the same thing.
But the soldiers dispelled these legends. During the fighting, it became necessary to cover the heads of the soldiers with a helmet. Russian troops received the French helmets Adriani (in Russian Adrianova helmet). At the beginning, the helmets were with the French emblem, then, by order of Russia, with the coat of arms of Russia, the orl. The Germans had a horned helmet, the horns were for fixing a mask or forehead.
The Austro-Hungarians made their own helmet - a Bendorf helmet, a steel helmet of dragoons, a German helmet M16, M17, an Austrian helmet with a protective mask, a helmet with a forehead (there were several varieties of foreheads).
Scout attack aircraft explored the capabilities of their weapons and enemy defenses. The helmets were not bad, they defended well, but no commands were heard in them, also nothing good
