Description of the artwork «Point»
This polyptych consists of six canvases, which individually are very self-sufficient, but it is together, they form not only a compositional but also conceptual unity.
Each color in this work has its own meaning:
White is the beginning. Something primordially pure and undiscovered.
Black is the end. Something that has been experienced, that has passed. Something that leaves an ambiguous aftertaste of the experience. But you can't do without it.
Red is something beautiful in us. A feeling in which we draw meaning and the will to move on.
The first five canvases are akin to stages, chapters that lead us to the last, sixth work. And even though it completes this polyptych, it is in this canvas that the black color, which in this concept is the symbol of completion, is absent. By that dissonance I wanted to underline that all the stages we go through at some point will come to an end. And after overcoming all the difficulties, in the end you realize that all that's left in you is a longing for the unknown and love. Yes, love. And I don't mean only in a romantic context. Love can be for anything, for a person or a cause, for yourself or for the world. It's not that important. The point is that at some point you simply feel that this love has become real, conscious and no longer confined to anything.
