The date of writing of the polyptych consider the period from 1450 in 1516, sometimes referred to as the interval is smaller, 1490 – 1516 years. But from a scientific point of view this work is in any case could not be created earlier 1490 - evidenced by the dendrochronological analysis of wooden panels that are made of panels.
