Description of the artwork «Blue III»
Part of the large-scale triptych "Blue". Three huge canvases measuring 355 by 270 cm each form a single whole and often occupy a separate room at the contemporary exhibitions of Joan Miró. In the 1960s, inspired by experiments by abstract expressionists, Miro explored the possibilities of pure color fields, but, as always, he matures his own language and follows his own laws of equilibrium and compositional harmony.
