The triptych was painted for the decoration of the Cabinet of oblaka in Vvedenskoye lane (now Podsosensky lane) 21 well-known Moscow businessman and art collector Alexei Morozov Vikulovich. The decor of the interiors were made by architect F. O. Schechtel
