The Krasnodar Regional Art Museum named after F. A. Kovalenko is one of the oldest art museums in the North Caucasus.
The museum fund has about 13,000 works of painting, graphic art, sculpture and decorative art. The collection of Russian art is presented from the main schools of icon painting: Novgorod, Moscow, Northern to the most daring creative searches of the 20-30s of the XX century, united by the common name "avant-garde".
Of particular value are the collections of the museum: the Russian avant-garde, Japanese color woodcuts (XVIII - middle of the 19th century), the art of the Netherlands of the 16th century, Russian and Soviet painting, and the bookplate (of the 18th – 20th centuries).
