Caspar
Necher

Netherlands • 1639−1684

A large part of the artistic career of Caspar Necere was held in the Hague, where he settled in 1661-1662. He also worked in the town of Deventer by Gerard Ter Borch the. From his mentor, the painter Caspar Nesher adopted an addiction to the image on the pictures of people in clothes made from expensive materials and fabrics, particularly of white satin. Netzer wrote genre scenes and paintings on religious and mythological themes, but from about 1670 the artist Nacer devoted himself almost exclusively to painting portraits, mostly members of court circles in the Hague. King Charles II felt it necessary to invite Caspar Nechera in England.
