The painter, born in M., Berezina (Minsk province.), died in Leningrad. Graduated from Odessa drawing school in 1900, then entered the Academy of arts, worked in studios of D. N. Kardovsky, V. E. Makovsky. In 1908 he received the title of artist of the painting for the painting "Motherhood". Participant of exhibitions since 1903. He painted portraits and landscapes. Since the 1920s, mainly engaged in teaching activities (up to 1932 taught in the art. schools of Leningrad, 1932-50 in IR, since 1939 — Professor).
