Rerberg in Moscow (1910-11), then in Munich and Paris. Since 1912, a participant in exhibitions. Member of the society "Jack of Diamonds" (1917) and others. In 1912 she worked in the studio on hand. V. Tatlina in Moscow, then lived and worked in Petrograd - Leningrad. She was friends with M. Gorky, V. Mayakovsky, Vs. Ivanov, A. Tolstoy, P. Kapitsa. In the late 1900s, she attended Sunday classes at the Stroganov School and F. Rerberg Studio. In 1910 - 1912 she studied in Munich at the Habermann studio, in private studios in Paris. She worked together with a group of young artists (V. Tatlin, N. Rogovin, A. Vesnin and others) in a studio on Ostozhenka in Moscow.
In 1918 - 1919, Khodasevich made his debut in the theater, arranging the play “The Tree of Transformations” based on the play by N. Gumilyov in the Petrograd theater-studio “Halt of Comedians”. Works with director Radlov at the People's Comedy Theater. Participates in the design of Petrograd for the revolutionary festivities, illustrates books and magazines, manages the art of the first workers' holiday homes on the Islands. Repeatedly travels abroad - at the invitation of M. Gorky and together with her husband, A. Diderichs, on a business trip of Vneshtorg. Designs performances in Milan and Rome.
In 1930 he created the scenery for V. Mayakovsky’s pantomime “Moscow is Burning” in the First Moscow State Circus and for D. Shostakovich’s ballet “The Golden Age” at the State Academic Opera and Ballet Theater (now the Mariinsky Theater).
In 1932 - 1936, Khodasevich was the main artist of this theater.
In 1934, her personal exhibition was held in the House of Theater Workers
in Leningrad. Valentina Khodasevich designed about 150 productions and was rightfully considered one of the best theater artists in Leningrad.
