A landscape painter, genre painter, master of still life. Was born in Kiev. The honored worker of arts of the USSR since 1966, the winner of the Republican Komsomol prize. N. Ostrovsky 1968, people's artist of the USSR since 1986, corresponding member AH the USSR since 1988. In 1962 he graduated from the KHI (studied under V. Kostetskii, C. Trokhymenko, S. Grigoriev), since 1984 – Professor. Lives and works in Kiev.

Pedagogical work in the National Academy of fine arts and architecture began in 1968 as a lecturer in the Department of painting and composition, since 1984 - Professor. Leads a group of graduate trainees easel painting.
