Honored artist of Russia. Was born in Moscow. From 1934 to 1938 he studied at the Moscow secondary art school. From 1941 to 1943 he was evacuated to the village of Voskresenskoye (Bashkortostan) with the whole school. From 1944 to 1950 he studied at Moscow state art Institute named after V. I. Surikov. Teachers were: V. V. Pochitalov, S. N. Kostin, N. To. Maksimov, third year worked in the Studio of S. Gerasimov. Already thesis brought the young artist to fame – "Pushkin reading "Message to Siberia" by M. N. Volkonskaya before her departure to Siberia." Now the canvas is located in the Central Pushkin Museum in St. Petersburg, often reproduced, including in school textbooks of literature. In 1951 Vera Dreznina joined the Union of artists of the USSR. From 1962 to 1982 he taught painting at the art-graphic faculty of the Moscow state pedagogical Institute (now University). V. A. Gressoney are kept in museums of A. S. Pushkin in Moscow and St. Petersburg, the History and reconstruction of Moscow, Moscow art theatre, the State Museum of the Bolshoi theatre, the manor Abramtzevo art galleries Tomsk, Krasnoyarsk, Smolensk, Tyumen, Novosibirsk, private collections in Austria, Germany, England.
