Antonovich Zaitsev

Painter, Honored Artist of the Chuvash Republic.

Born in the village of Irkh-Sirmy-Koshki, Mariinsko-Posadsky District, Chuvash Republic. From the age of 14 he was a boy at the icon painter, a painter, decorator, worked in Moscow, St. Petersburg, Rostov-on-Don, Baku. Visited private studios. In the army he was a draftsman of the headquarters, head of a regiment club. In 1928 he returned to Cheboksary. I went on a creative business trip to Kazakhstan, where he created a series of paintings and portraits, was engaged in photography.

Participated in exhibitions: Chuvash republican (since 1930); group of artists "Association" (Obis) (Moscow, 1925); the second and third exhibitions of paintings by a group of Moscow artists (1927, 1929); Soviet photography (Moscow, 1928); traveling works of Chuvash artists (Gorky, 1935); dedicated to the 20th anniversary of the Red Army; The 20th anniversary of the Komsomol; traveling artists of Kazakhstan in China (1938); works of artists of the Union, autonomous republics and regions of the RSFSR (Moscow, 1944, 1971); the zonal "Big Volga" (1967); All-Union “Soviet Portrait” (Moscow, 1977).

Solo exhibitions of Yu. Zaitsev were held in Lubny in 1924, 1925, 1968; in Bezhitsa in 1925, 1927, 1928; in Alma-Ata in 1936, 1971; in Kamyshino in 1957; in Cheboksary in 1928, 1936, 1965, 1970; in Tallinn in 1970
