Ilyich Katurkin

After graduating from the Academy of fine arts received the title of artist of painting.

In 1909-1916 he studied at the Imperial Academy of Arts in St. Petersburg, class of Professor Vladimir Makovsky. Before the revolution he worked in the magazine "Art for all". From 1919 to 1924, led the Department subprior in the Tula gubernia Department of public education. After the war moved from Leningrad to Moscow, where he heads the Board "Vsekohudozhnik" until 1949, 1953 and 1957 he taught at the school of industrial art to them. M. I. Kalinin.

Timothy Saturnino plays an important role in restoring the Academic dacha after the war. In 1945 he wrote a letter to the Council of Ministers of the USSR about the need for public funding of "Giving." The letter was reviewed positively.

As the artist T. Katorkin known for his landscapes of the Tver region, genre works on the theme of rural life. In his paintings reflected the history of the revival of the Academic dacha, depicted then just started being built homes of many famous artists.
