Studied at the Stroganov Uch-school, then MUZHVZ (1912-18). From 1918 he taught at the Ryazan SVOMAS, then in Moscow. hood. educational institutions. From 1921 he worked as a theater. artist. Member of the Union of artists of the USSR. The son of the Tula shop in 1912-1917 he studied at the Moscow school of painting, sculpture and architecture under A. E. Arkhipov, N.. Kasatkin, K. A. Korovin and L. O. Pasternak. Since 1918 he participated in exhibitions in 1920-ies. worked in the Theater. V. E. Meyerhold. Here in 1921 he was one of the artists of the play “Mystery-bouffe” and in this capacity is referred to V. V. Mayakovsky in his autobiography “I myself”88. He was a member of MKO (1926-1929), Chairman of the Moscow Association of artists-decorators (1929-1932). Later he worked at the monumental painting Workshop of the Academy of architecture of the USSR.
