Was born in Irkutsk. From 1948 to 1951 and from 1954 to 1956 he studied at the Irkutsk art school at M. D. Barkalova. Since 1968, a member of the artists Union of the USSR. From 1971 to 1972 and from 1973 to 1974 he taught at the pedagogical Department of the Irkutsk College of arts. Among his pupils - A. Ivanov, T. Vetrova, T. Lareva, V. Shiryaeva. Member of organizing Committee of voopik. In 1985 awarded the title of honored artist of the RSFSR.
