Ivanovich Cherinko

[22.7(4.8). 1908, p. Money, is now Zolotonosha district of Cherkasy region, — 6.10.1948, Ashgabat], a Soviet painter, honored art worker of the Turkmen SSR (1945). He studied at the Kiev art Institute (1926-31) B. F. Wiza, M. Bernstein. The Chairman of the Board of the Union of artists of Turkmenistan (1938, 1945-48). He taught at the Turkmen art school. Rustaveli (1933-36; 1938-40). Played an important role in the preparation of professional Turkmen artists and strengthening of the method of socialist realism in the art of Soviet Turkmenistan. Author of thematic paintings, portraits, landscapes, dedicated to social transformations in Soviet Turkmenistan: "the Forge" (1928), "Bai, the powers that be" (1940), "Horsemen" (1944-46), "Spring in Bagira" (1947), all in the Museum of fine arts of the Turkmen SSR, Ashgabat.
