Alexandrovich Chizhikov

People's artist of Russia. Chizhikov Viktor Alexandrovich was born in the family of employees in Moscow.

Finished Moscow secondary school No. 103 in 1953, he entered the Moscow polygraphic Institute, the Department of arts which graduated in 1958.

In 1952, as a high school student, began working in the newspaper "Housing worker", where he received the first experience of a cartoonist.

Since 1955 in the magazine "Crocodile", since 1956 — the "Fun", 1958 — "Murzilka", 1959 — "Around the world".

He also worked in the "Evening Moscow", "Pioneer truth", "Young naturalist", "Young guard", "Ogonyok", "Pioneer", "Week" and other periodicals.

Since 1960, illustrated books in publishers "Baby", "Children's literature", "fiction", etc.

Member of the Union of journalists since 1960.

Member of the Union of artists of Russia since 1968.

Member of the editorial Board of the magazine "Murzilka" since 1965.

The winner of the Honorary diploma behalf of Hans Christian Andersen (1980), order "badge of Honor", honor badge of the Olympic Committee and diploma of the USSR Academy of arts for creating an image of the mascot of the Moscow Olympic games Misha the bear (1980) and an Honorary diploma for the children's book of Russia (1997).

Winner of the Russian contest "Art of book" (1989, 1990, 1993, 1996, 1997 gg.), the contest readers ' choice award "Golden key" (1996), annual professional prize for the highest achievements in the genre of satire and humor — "Golden Ostap" (1997).

The Chairman of jury of competition of children's drawing "Tick-tock" held by the TV company "Mir" (TV channel Russia) since 1994.
