In 1871 he entered the Academy of fine Arts. In 1878 he graduated from the scientific course. In 1879 he entered the Pedagogical courses at the Academy of fine Arts; in 1882 graduated with the certificate of teaching in secondary schools. From 1883 to 1897 - the curator of the Museum educational books and librarian training courses of the Academy of Arts; since 1888 - a teacher of technical drawing in a normal school, with Pedagogical courses. In 1889 the title of class artist of 3 degrees. From 1893 to 1897 he performed duties of head teacher training courses at I. A. H. (Kondakov)
