After five years of school and a couple years in vocational school young Volodya Teterkina took to his pupils, the artist, who worked in the House of Officers. Just before world war II. In the forty-first future artist was fourteen. Went to war father, older brother and sister, and he got to the machine at the Kuibyshev plant, sharpening wheels for tanks, as all of our people, giving all their efforts to achieve the great Victory...
In 1945, 17-year-old boy enrolled in Art school. It was a hard and hungry post-war period, but in General the nature of the universal poverty was romanticism and the bright hope of youth. And humor. They were filming with a friend's room in the suburb Working, went dancing, joked: feet socks drew the window – curtains of red velvet with poppies, is so skillfully written on the cardboard that people went to watch them.
He studied like a man possessed, and that his obsession with art Mr Putin has retained for life. Shortly after graduating he was expecting his first great success. Painting “Labor reserves”, written on the basis of the thesis, passed all the selections and in 1951 was adopted at the all-Union art exhibition. For yesterday's student and young artist, it was just unheard of gift. As a reward he was handed a start in the Creativity House in the suburbs. This trip had a huge impact on all his work, acrylic, expanding horizons and giving many known masters of a brush. Later, the artist will indulge in such trips, a lot of giving for creativity and inspiration, and will follow this rule throughout his life.
On returning to Irkutsk he waited for the cold shoulder and indifference is so painful that tossing all the old dreams and hopes Mr Tetenkin left the painting in the sculpture shop, and there's no a single day: the order of the leader, steelworker... But nothing in this life happens in vain: and the lesson has not passed for him in vain, and the ability to mold later came in handy. And trials of his life has always been a little too much.
In the mid-fifties he got a new job – was appointed Director of the Redwood art workshops, which he organized and opened. In those years, the Angarsk only just started... Then he came back to Irkutsk. For a long time, I was unemployed, often desperate, and, of course, wrote And wrote... it is always a lot, passionately, obsessively, losing all sense of time!...
Life with him was his devoted friend returning from war veteran, handsome and intelligent man, artist – Walter Karlovich Friedemann, and to this day a constant ally and companion. Together they rented a wooden house workshop and their main profession was books. Work in publishing, book design – art and inspiration, and life. Work nights, the stress, the ideas, the first color book for kids “As the paint and went for a walk”.
In 1960 the young artist was admitted to the Union of Artists in those years is not available for many of the institution, many promising and, most importantly, incarnate proof of creative merit. However, hand-painted Irkutsk Znamensky Church in the suburb of Marat, the newly-minted member of the Union went against the unwritten laws, compulsory for the organized members of the official Soviet art, for which he paid with his exile from the Fund, well, not for long.
In the 60s we had the establishment of its famous picturesque manner of painting: color, skill compositions, major grace tones that reflected the unbridled optimism of peace, harmony productions and motives – poetry, lyrics, frozen in paint. Then Mr Tetenkin begins teaching at the art school. Always theatrical, solemn, in the classroom more than punctual, a universal favorite. Talked to someone, looked to him for a lesson is our Tetenkin, climbed on the window sill and waving his hands enthusiastically about something screaming! Of course, the students loved it and learned almost all straight a's...
At the same time in the 60-ies of Mr Tetenkin started collecting bells. Together with Friedemann they picked it up bit by bit, or rather of the bells. There were a lot of things: the ship's bell, yamskih bells, Orthodox and Buddhist bells. From the ceiling of the Studio they fell down an amazing musical curtain. And even then, this collection was considered the best private collection the bell of the Soviet Union.
Important events in the life and work of Vladimir Tetenkin in the 60-ies began a trip to the Black sea and especially in Central Asia – Bukhara, Samarkand, Issyk-Kul. Amazing and unique stories in the Siberian artist sun-burnt, gray-haired and silent, as Asian elders, mosques. Kazakh donkey, stubborn and restless, which is fed with pears, while writing, otherwise be not wanted...
The special role played in his work picturesque country villages on the Irkut – Bausheva first, and then the pioneer, since the early 70-ies became his second home in the lap of nature. The beauty of his surroundings inspired the Artist to his best work. He enlisted in the heyday of the skill. Realistic manner of painting landscapes and still lifes – the favorite genres of his work – as ever pure and faultless in composition, bright and cheerful color, written by passionate, bold brush strokes, invested in the creation of the soul of the Master and the mystery of nature, which he understood and gave. The key to the blossoming of talent was undoubtedly its high performance. Work – sketchbook, easel, paints, brushes, cardboard, stretchers, oil, nature – all the things without which he does not live a single day where his soul is stuck. Always more words he appreciates the work and wrote in those years a lot and passionately.
A separate Chapter of his life was the Baikal – eternal source of picturesque motifs. Tetenkin goes there so often that in many works the gray face of Baikal passed through his soul. Continues to inspire artist of his numerous trips, which appear more and more sketches: Kuril Islands, Poland, China, the suburbs. Among them special place takes the Golden Ring of Russia, where he visited in the late eighties. In the artist's canvases are so wonderfully lyrical, simple and austere Rostov Kremlin, Borisoglebsk, Zagorsk – the eternal and the familiar faces of Holy Russia.
In the early nineties of great importance for his work acquire trips abroad: to France, where in Oroville in the exhibition-the salon he gained recognition and won the gold medal, and Poland. Two works of that period, boats-yachts have become a kind of sign, emblem late Teterkina, a masterpiece in his oeuvre.
The work of Vladimir Tetenkin dispersed in many museums in Europe. He had the good fortune to be a teacher and mentor of many contemporary artists. Among his students – V. Zverev, N. Sysoeva, V. Mironenko... Happy is he who managed to leave their mark on the skills of the next generation who has invested part of his soul and talent into the hearts and creations of numerous students.
His confession became the official. Rather, he is the darling and the unofficial leader. Although not he never sought to be a leader. In the 80-ies. between the thing said in the city he is the best painter. At the beginning of perestroika he received in recognition of his talent official award: the honorary title “Honored artist of Russia”. And what a glorious finale? Of course not! For undoubted truth of his life is a Cartesian paraphrase of the words: “I Write, therefore I am!”. So, God forbid, the artist will never know of his weakness, trembling hands, the extinction of the spirit; God grant many years of new ideas, themes and creations!
